She’d felt everything through their bond, but, to see it play out on his face, that made her almost start to cry again. Ellyn had wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss, nipping and sucking on his bottom lip slowly. Smiling, she broke the kiss, nuzzling against his cheek. Her fingers played with the hair at the base of his neck and she stared into his eyes.

“That is a really long time, Arzhur…Good thing you’re immortal and I’m near immortal. I plan on loving you forever. Now that I’ve got you, I’m never letting go, I promise.” Her forehead pressed to his as she grinned, giggling a bit before she pulled back and stroked both of his cheeks, still in awe at his confession as she felt giddy. “Gods above…I’m glad we’re sitting here, I don’t think I’d be standing if we were outside. I love you, so much my Arzhur.”

Ellyn laughed softly and pressed against him, slowly running her fingers through his hair. He loved her! Now she understood why her heart went haywire around him. But, she was happy, nothing could ruin her mood. All she wanted to do was kiss him and stay this close to him forever.

Forever was a long time and frankly he had come to terms that he had all the time in the world to be with her. Fingers moved through her dark hair as he his other hand held the fae close to him.

“My Ellyn, I am prepared to love you for an eternity. The only reason I would even begin to live so long is because of you.” He kisses her softly then looks to her with a grin. “My dear, even if you dared let go for a second, you would not be able to leave for I will hold you in my arms and there is nothing you could say to make me ever let you go.” Another kiss and he could swear that his heart was soaring! Feeling her emotions through the bond only intensified his own as hands crawled up her back, fingers lightly twisting at the ends of her hair. For a moment, his mind became a bit hazy from all the joy he was experiencing, a fact that both shocked and exhilarated him, as then began to cover her cheek and neck with soft pecks. Then, as he heard her last sentence, stopped his gentle trail to look at her.

“Could not stand? From what, my dear Ellyn? The sheer confession or the feeling that came from it?” he said with a warm smile.

She blinked at him a moment, blushing and then leaning in for another kiss. Ellyn twirled a strand of his hair around her finger and leveled him with a steady look. Her other hand came to stroke his cheek, thumb moving over his chilled skin slowly.

“Both and the enormous weigh that has left my shoulders…I was afraid that I’d found someone to give my heart to, but he didn’t want it, let alone knew how to care for it. These past few weeks have worn away that fear. And tonight, you’ve completely erased it from my mind. for that, I will always be grateful, my Arzhur.” Ellyn kissed him again, trying not to cry. She lost the battle this time, small tears dripping down her cheeks as she laughed. “I’m so overwhelmed I can’t help but cry. Happy tears, love. I’m so happy!”

Her hands carded through his hair and she pressed tightly to him, planting soft kisses all over his face, still smiling. Beneath the excitement and the giddiness, there was a sense of peace at the back of her mind. She didn’t have to worry about having a one-sided relationship anymore, she knew he’d return her affections.

Arzhur felt the touch and the soft kisses, both actions drawing a contented sigh from him. He did not speak of the tears, only wiped them away, and then held his Ellyn close to him as the two could possibly be. Needless to say, this whole night of confessions had been nothing short of amazing as they stood there, words yet to have left them. However, the immortal did finally find his way onto his feet and looked down to the fae.

“My dear Ellyn, if it such a trial to stand then I shall help you.” He quickly pulled her up and into his arms, kissing her again once she was settled. From there, he gently moved around the slumbering canines and walked towards the bedroom they had shared in rest so often already. Each step was another kiss as they finally entered and he lay her upon the sheets of the bed. Moving to lay with her, a hand resting upon her him, he spoke with the same content voice as his feelings.

“I hope you do not mind but after such an emotional night, it might be better for the two of us to have moved where we could relax.” Another soft kiss to her lips was given. “My Ellyn…” he spoke as fingers mimicked her actions and stroked back any loose strands of the dark hair. “You have made me the happiest I have ever been in years. I love you.”

Ellyn could feel his uneasiness, it mirrored her own then. Butterflies thrashed about and she was shocked. He was always so sure of himself, he never stutered. In the back of her mind, darkness ran rampant. He was so serious and yet so different. Was ither fault? Had she done something to upset him? If so, what?

“No, not at all…” Nodding slowly, she entered the house, chewing her bottom lip as her hands fidgeted. He was going to tell her to go away, that’s what this was. He wasn’t smiling at her, he’d always done that so far. What had she done wrong? Why now? Forcing her hands to stop, she tilted her head, looking at him as she leaned against the couch, fingers gripping the fabric. “What do you need to talk about, Arzhur?”

The walk inside had been nerve wracking. His hands barely moving as they lay limp at his sides, a sign of his emotional turmoil. They finally made their way to the couch where he took his usual place beside her. For a moment, he had to think this over. What to say, what to say… Well, it was best to start from the beginning. Heaving a sigh, he finally began to speak.

”I…I have talked to your general and…well, something became quite clear to me. Something I have to tell you and apologize for waiting this long to do so. Ellyn…I…” he swallowed again. “I love you.” And then the dam broke.

“You, Ellyn, you are everything to me. From the hour I wake to the moment the death sleep snatches me under its spell. Even then we are not separated as my dreams are constantly filled with your image. I have slept with that stone you gave me every day since I received it. You are a wonderful person with a beautiful smile and a melodious laugh and I swear, every single time you speak, I fall silent for I do not want to miss a single word. I know you are in battle and I encourage your fight for you a wonderful leader but I also know that I hate we are separated by it until you are able to find time to return. By the heavens, when you return, it is the most joyous feeling I have ever known! I can’t even put that moment into word only that it is becoming the very reason I need to exist. I love you, Ellyn, my Ellyn, and I can only apologize for taking so long to tell you.” His head dipped down ever so slightly though his eyes refused to leave her face, hands slowly taking hers into his own.

“I love you, my dear Ellyn, with every bit of my soul…”

This was the exact opposite of what she was preparing herself for. It shocked, it stunned, it made her train of thought instantly derail. As soon as he said he loved her, she felt like she was going to pass out, have a heart attack and cry; all at once. Well, only the latter happened. Tears flittered in her eyes before falling, silently as she hung on every last word. Her heart swelled as happiness filled her. He wasn’t going to tell her to leave and not come back. He wasn’t rejecting her!

Ellyn smiled slowly, tears genuinely flowing and she moved to sit in his lap, her favotire spot and intertwined her fingers with his own. She couldn’t help it as her lips pressed to his, half a dozen quick pecks before she looked into his eyes. Sniffling some, she smiled at him again and managed to speak, “What took you so long?” She laughed softly and pressed against him before she said anything else, taking a deep breath to try and calm her nerves.

“Arzhur, at first I only wanted to be around you to make you smile. But, once I accomplished that, I realized that it wasn’t just about having you smile. I’m completely addicted to you, Arzhur. You’ve seen my weaknesses and my flaws and you’ve accepted them. You, my Arzhur, have managed to take the exiled Queen of Faery and make her feel wanted and cared for, something that no one else has done since my parents died. You’re the reason I come back to this realm, love. I can feel everything on your mind when you think of me and it makes mewant to hurry up and come home. That’s what it feels like to b with you, it feels like I’m home, where I really belong…I fell in love with you a long time ago. I love that your face lights up when you see me, lke you’re glad for my presence and even though you didn’t know you felt love for me, you let me into your home and into your life. I’m always thankful for the night you gave my Ceri, that was the night I felt that I got you, too.”

Ellyn had stopped crying, completely by the time she was done and shifted in his lap some, pressing her forehead to his. “I love you, my Arzhur, with every fiber of my being, my heart sings for you.”

Tears. He had never meant to be the cause of any tears on her person but there they were now. A hand moved to wipe those that had already begun to fall when he saw the smile on her face followed by the sheer joy that echoed through their bond. It was powerful and sent another small chill through his body as she took the time to crawl into his lap As if on instinct, a hand moved to wrest upon her hip while the other still lingered near her cheek.

The immortal hung upon every word that was spoken, the heavy weight he had acquired earlier quickly started to leave him. She…she loved him. Yes, and she wasn’t mad for him taking so long. For waiting on him to figure out his own emotions. Blue eyes never left the fae’s face as she continued to speak of her heart. When the final word fell from her lips, the smile only having grown on his face. His own heart beating strongly, Arzhur found himself wrapping both of his arms around Ellyn now, pressing another kiss upon her lips. It lingered for a bit before they parted, allowing him to speak again.

“My Ellyn, my dear Ellyn…you are the most wonderful person I know. I almost do not deserve you for having been so patient with. However, I am thankful you were after all this time. I will strive to keep that smile upon your face and to make sure you are loved until time ends.” He kissed her again, deepening it, as he pulled her body closer to him.

Ellyn? Ellyn. Ellyn. Ellyn. Where was he? The barns, that what the orc had said. Arzhur had memorized these words and quickly made his way there. However, as he bolted towards his own home, he tried to reach the fae through their bond. He was well aware there was a tinge of worry growing even in his mental voice. And if that wasn’t enough, the immortal was finding it harder and harder to run. His heart was suddenly weighing him down with the heavy desire to have the young woman in his arms right this moment. He all but collapsed upon his porch but grabbed onto a pillar to brace himself better. “Ellyn…please…”

She was taking care of Ceri, after all, she’d been neglecting him lately. Ellyn felt all the worse for it. But, Krull had given her the perfect excuse and escape. She was just on her way back when she felt him. He kept saying her name, she could feel it echo in he rmind, a growing intensity and worry. Uncertainty and fear made her eyebrows knit a moment before she could make out his form on the porch.

Ellyn took off, running as fast as she could, gravel crunching under her feet. Silently, she prayed that Krull hadn’t done anything lasting. They were only supposed to talk, right? Skidding and almost falling, she was gasping when she reached his side, eyes darting nervously, checking him for any injuries. It took her a moment to feel through their bond, it felt like she had been punched in the chest, it swelled and she trembled a moment. Her hands were on either side of his face, thumbs stroking his cheeks.

“I’m here, love! Arzhur, I’m right here…What’s wrong? Are you alright? Say something, please…”

He heard the footsteps charging towards him but didn’t look up. He couldn’t. For the first time in his life he felt nervous and with this nervousness had a feeling of sickness attached. But what could the immortal worry over? Had the orc not confirmed that she loved him? The word sent a shiver down his spine again. Yes, he said she did but…what if it was too late? What if she became irritated at Arzhur’s indecision and naivety after all this time? There were more questions but they were cut immediately as he felt the touch to his face. With a gentle turn, he now looked into those eyes he once called beautiful. Now they were more than that; they were enchanting. Hypnotized for just a moment, he forced himself to swallow hard in an attempt to speak.

“I..I need…I am fine. I just…I need to talk to you. To…to say something.” He made to stand up tall, not once did his eyes leave hers. “Do you mind joining me inside?” he said before stepping towards the door. A simple tug of the door and he offered Ellyn the first steps into the large ranch home.

Ellyn could feel his uneasiness, it mirrored her own then. Butterflies thrashed about and she was shocked. He was always so sure of himself, he never stutered.
